Mantaray: Driving businesses' climate-friendly purchase decisions
Founded by Rujuta Natu, Mantaray Climate have developed a data platform that makes it easy for companies to access and analyse supplier sustainability data, empowering them to make climate-friendly purchase decisions. Hear more about Rujuta’s journey below!
How did you get started?
As a former engineer turned tech lawyer, a few years ago, I was working at an organisation that wanted to set net-zero targets. That's when I realised firsthand how time-consuming and overwhelming it was to manually research suppliers' sustainability. It seemed like every sustainability manager or consultant I spoke to had a similar story.
Driven by the need for a more efficient solution, I founded Mantaray Climate. Our goal is to provide companies with a streamlined and effective way to access and analyse supplier sustainability data, so they can make informed decisions that align with their sustainability goals.
How has Stone & Chalk helped you grow your business?
One of the significant steps in our journey has been joining Stone & Chalk, an innovation hub located in Sydney's Startup Hub. Stone & Chalk has been instrumental in providing me with guidance and opportunities, including one-on-one sessions with venture capitalists to help me prepare for our first capital raise.
What are some of your recent accomplishments?
We've also achieved some exciting milestones along the way. Last year, Mantaray won the Next Big Thing Pitch Competition at the Vic Cleantech Expo, and we have built out version 1 of our product. Currently, we are setting up pilots with two customers to further refine our offering and gather valuable feedback.
What's next?
Looking ahead, our next focus is on raising our first round of funding, expanding our team, and working closely with our pilot customers to develop compelling case studies in preparation for a full launch.
