How Cropify are sowing the seeds of innovation in agtech
In the agtech sector, Cropify is leading the charge in revolutionising global supply chain challenges. Spearheaded by co-founder and CEO Anna Falkiner, Cropify aims to eliminate subjective visual testing of pulses and grains globally, increasing consumer confidence.
“Cropify uses AI and machine learning to objectively test pulse and grain commodities globally” Anna explains. “We basically remove the lack of confidence in the global supply chain from the farm gate right through to the end user.”
Curiosity: the essence of big thinking
Anna finds inspiration in individuals who are curious and always questioning things. “Big thinking to me is about being curious and asking why rather than accepting what's in front of you. Never losing that childlike curiosity and trying to work out how things work, why they work and how you can improve on that.”
It’s this curiosity that has driven the founding of Cropify. With Anna coming from 5 generations of farming family on both sides, and her partner and co-founder coming from the grain industry, Anna’s questioning of why things work and how to make them better helped the duo find a gap in the market where they could make a real difference.
The home of visionaries and self-starters
Stone & Chalk attracts self-starters like Cropify with a drive to change the world. For Cropify, being part of this community meant breaking free from silos, connecting with like-minded individuals, and collaborating with other creative thinkers.
“As a founder of a startup, you are ultimately on a very lean budget and you can end up in a silo working from home” Anna explains. “Being part of an innovation hub [like Stone & Chalk] removes that silo and you're around other creative people and big thinkers. Being around other industries and other people who are pushing the boundaries within their chosen sector is a really healthy way to grow and really expand your horizons.”
Redefining the agtech industry through innovation
Anna’s journey with Cropify at Stone & Chalk showcases the transformative power of big thinking, curiosity, and collaborative communities. As Cropify continues to redefine agtech, their story continues to emphasise the collective impact of pushing boundaries in the pursuit of technological excellence.
